Wednesday 19th June 2019 was a special day for The Majestic Line - It was the naming day for our fourth vessel 'Glen Shiel'.
The weather was kind and invited guests joined us on the pier at Holy Loch Marina to witness Molly McLauchlan name the Glen Shiel.
Molly (95) is the great granddaughter of Robert Lorimer who founded the well known yacht slip and boat builders, Morris and Lorimer, with his business partner David Morris. Molly grew up in Sandbank and went on to work in the office of Morris and Lorimer - during the war the company built pinaces for the RAF and harbour launches for the Royal Navy and Molly was involved in the launching and naming of these vessels.
The naming ceremoy for Glen Shiel took place at Holy Loch Marina which stands on the site of Morris and Lorimer's Boat Yard, so it was lovely to be able to invite Molly to do the honours.
