Our final cruise of the season for all vessels this year departed Oban on Saturday 20th October and arrived in the Holy Loch on Friday 26th October. The 'Isles of the Clyde and the Southern Hebrides' can be a cruise for the more adventurous as it features a rounding of the 'Mull of Kintyre', which depending on the weather can be very lively. This year would go down as one of the more adventurous roundings of the Mull. Guests were presented with certificates to confirm that they had indeed 'Mastered the Mull'.
Each of the boats followed their own itinerary, and occasionally they would meet up at anchorages. They visited Ardrishaig, Lochranza on Arran and cruised through the Kyles of Bute. All three boats were spotted anchored in Rothesay Bay last Thursday while guests enjoyed a shore visit to Mount Stuart House - Britain's most spectacular Victorian Gothic Mansion, a feat of Victorian engineering and a testament to the vision of the 3rd Marquess of Bute who commissioned the house in 1880.
On Friday the 26th October all three Majestic Line vessels cruised in to the Holy Loch. It was a glorious day, the sun was shining and the autumn colours were displayed to best advantage. The welcoming party on the pontoons included a Piper who played to welcome the boats back home. A glorious end to a fantastic season!
