A Taste of the Hebrides - Glen Etive
Deb
I can’t say enough about how well taken care of I felt on my three night Majestic Cruise. From the moment we stepped aboard (bubbles!) nothing was too much trouble for these folks, they just want you to have a great time - and they make you feel like family while doing it. My wee cabin was very comfy, bed was big and cozy and the ensuite great with a decent sized shower. Enjoyed the trips ashore and walking around at my own pace. Loved both Ulva and Tobermory (where I saw the cat!!) I thought it super that we could hang out on the bridge with the captain whenever we wanted! (Even tho I couldn’t understand anything he said lol) . Our bosun Michelle was delightful and worked so hard. I’ve saved the best for last. Our chef was amazing!! He went absolutely out of his way to cater for my dietary restrictions even making gluten free / dairy free shortbread , pavlova , sticky toffee pudding ! And that coconut thing with the chocolate omg! I can eat goat and sheep cheese and every night there was one of those on offer. I felt so grateful and it made my trip so special. In addition to the sweets and puddings ALL our meals were terrific and delicious. Loved getting the mussels from the farm . Our little group consisted of the loveliest most hilarious and interesting people and the laughs we had were truly medicinal for me! Especially when Cris saw a beastie (or did she ?) outside on our last night lol. The scenery is gorgeous . We saw sea eagles , puffins , seals and I think a porpoise - mostly from a distance but still! My only sad note is that I wish I hadn’t decided to take a nap right before Fingals Cave! But that just means I’ll have to go back again. I enjoyed just relaxing with good people , the gin and tonics and the wine and the million dollar views at our lovely meals. Thanks to all on the Glen Etive and at The Majestic Line for doing a fantastic job.
