About The Majestic Line

The Majestic Line was acquired by Craig of Campbeltown Limited in June 2024.

Craig of Campbeltown Limited is a family-owned business operating various transport and tourism services in Scotland and North Northumberland, including West Coast Motors, Borders Buses, City Sightseeing Glasgow and Bute, Kintyre Express, and West Coast Tours. It has a long history of providing quality, reliable, and customer-focused services to our communities and visitors.

The Majestic Line was born out of a love of the sea. Previous owners Andy Thoms and Ken Grant, wanted to share their passion for the west coast of Scotland in the most enjoyable way possible – by boat. In 2004 a beautifully crafted wooden-hulled fishing trawler was converted into a bespoke small cruise ship; Glen Massan, the first of the fleet sailed out of the Holy Loch, near Dunoon, exploring the islands and lochs of Argyll. In 2007 another wooden-hulled fishing trawler was introduced to the fleet, Glen Tarsan. With two boats now in the fleet, they expanded the cruising to include the Inner Hebrides and sailed out of Oban.

Exploration of the Outer Hebrides, St Kilda and the North West Coast required a special kind of boat, one purpose-built for longer journeys. Glen Etive, a steel-hulled boat based on a 1930s gentleman’s yacht was launched in 2016, closely followed by Glen Shiel in 2019.

With a fleet of four boats, all with a distinctive gold funnel and en-suite cabins, the Majestic Line takes pride in the outstanding hospitality provided to our guests as they explore one of the most stunning areas of the world

Our Commitment to Sustainable Tourism

The Majestic Line believes in preserving the waters and islands we encounter on our cruises. We have appointed a Green Tourism Advocate - Marie McGhee. Marie will champion all our sustainable practices and constantly review our green credentials.

Our Team

Exceptional hospitality is at the heart of the Majestic Line, and our team is here to ensure your cruise holiday with us is as perfect as possible. Our operations are run from our office in Sandbank, near Dunoon, with cruises departing from Holy Loch in early/late season and from Oban for the main season. Your first point of contact will be with our amazing Cruise Co-ordinators, Amanda and Karen. They will happily answer any questions you may have prior to booking and throughout the time leading up to your cruise.

Our Operations team ensure all the boats are ready to set sail with all the personal touches waiting for you onboard. Your crew will consist of Skipper, Chef, Engineer and Steward, all of whom will multi-task to ensure your every need is met. Guests marvel at the meals prepared by their Chef, often a highlight of their cruise. Your Skipper will always put your safety first whilst making sure you see the best the cruising area has to offer.
